Light to moderate rains are expected in parts of Visayas and Mindanao due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Norte, the state weather bureau said.

Eastern Visayas, Davao Region, Caraga and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The LPA was last seen 750 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte. The state weather bureau earlier said it has a slim chance of intensifying into a cyclone.
