Did you know: First basketball game of PBA

On April 9, 1975, the first basketball game of the Philippine Basketball Association, the oldest professional league in Asia, was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. An estimated crowd of 18,000 watched live the matches between Mariwasa-Noritake and Concepcion Carrier, and between Toyota and Universal Textiles. Concepcion guard Gregorio “Joy” Dionisio scored the first official basket of the league. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
