Today, March 9, is the 124th birth anniversary of President Jose P. Laurel. He is the only President to have served in all three branches of government. He served as senator from 1925 to 1931 and associate justice of the Supreme Court from 1936 to 1941 before becoming President from 1943 to 1945. In 1951, he served again as a senator until 1957. He died on Nov. 6, 1959. Aviles Street, where Malacañang is located, was renamed J. P. Laurel Street in his honor. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
