MANILA, Philippines — The Filipina nurse infected with the deadly Middle East Respiratory Corona Virus (MERS-CoV) has been cleared of the disease, a radio report on Friday said.

Radio DZMM quoted acting secretary Janette Garin of the Department of Health (DOH) as saying that the 32- year-old Filipina has been discharged from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City after yielding negative results from three successive tests.

Although cleared from the deadly virus, Garin said the nurse would need to undergo a 10-day home quarantine as a protocol.

The OFW arrived in the country on Feb. 1 with his husband via Saudi Airline flight 860.
