Isabela man charged with killing 2 women

MANILA, Philippines—A 19-year-old man has been charged with double murder after he allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend and her friend in Angeles City in Pampanga, police official said on Wednesday.

The suspect, Blessed John Albano, was arrested in his hometown in Isabela where he fled after the killing.

Senior Superintendent Eden Ugale of Angeles City Police said Abalos, a granddaughter of former Commission on Elections Chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr., and his former girlfriend Elyrose Abalos had a drinking session Thursday night last week in her apartment in Barangay (village) Malabanias, Angeleles City.

Alabano and Abalos reportedly had a heated argument. According to Albano, Abalos reached for a knife and that he defended himself, killing the victim.

Abalos’s friend, Ellaine Costales, who was in Abalos’s apartment at the time, tried to rescue her friend but ended up being killed by Albano as well, Ugale said.

Albano escaped to his hometown in Isabela but local police authorities were already waiting for him when he arrived. He was brought to Angeles City on Monday. Frances Mangosing
