Senate resumes Mamasapano public hearing Monday
MANILA, Philippines — After holding a series of executive sessions, the Senate will again open to the public next week its investigation on the Mamasapano incident.
The public hearing will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 3015, according to an advisory emailed to reporters on Wednesday by the office of Senator Grace Poe. Poe is taking the lead in the Mamasapano probe along with committees on peace, unification and reconciliation, and finance.
After holding its third public hearing last February 12, the committees conducted three closed-door meetings to listen to the testimony of resigned Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Alan Purisima, relieved PNP-Special Action Force Director Getulio Napenas, two survivors of the Mamasapano encounter, and a military official.
Poe said members of the committee will decide what information they could share to the public from the closed-door meetings they had from the said resource persons.
