Quezon City councilor launches text hotline

/ 11:19 PM September 28, 2011

Taking advantage of the Filipinos’ love for text messaging, a Quezon City councilor has introduced a system that will provide residents of District 3 a fast and effective response mechanism through their cell phones.

Through Text for Help, Councilor Don de Leon said that residents could look forward to the resolution of their problems by sending a text message to 0922-8683333. But first, they should register their cell phone numbers either through text or by filling out a Text for Help subscription form at barangay halls.

They can then text their concerns to the hotline, which will forward it to concerned authorities (police, firemen, rescue teams) for quick response.
