PH to host Asean Youth Summit

MANILA, Philippines—On January 23, 24, and 25, 2015, student leaders hailing from different Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) universities will gather in a three-day international conference dubbed the ‘Asean Youth Summit’ (AYS). The conference, to be held at the 5^th floor of the Henry Sy Sr. Hall of the De La Salle University Manila, will tackle accelerating economic growth, social progress, and socio-cultural evolution while protecting regional peace and stability, and giving opportunities for participating countries to discuss difference peacefully.

Delegates of the conference will participate in a series of lectures and congregational discussions featuring profound speakers.

The lecture series will see seven local and international speakers from fields: community development, trade and commerce, diplomacy, labor and employment, culture and society, and youth and welfare.

The conference will also cover a field trip to Nayong Pilipino.

The Asean Youth Summit 2015 is primarily focused on reinforcing the Asean identity with the theme “Empowering Asean Youth towards a greater Asean Community.” ADVT
