NAGA CITY, Philippies — A region-wide power outage was experienced in all the Bicol provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Masbate and Catanduanes since Saturday evening as a preventive measure against Tropical Storm “Amang,” authorities said.

Power supply was cut off to prevent accidents and damage to power lines as winds picked up before dawn of Sunday as Amang crossed Bicol, according to Lieutenant Clint Antipala, spokesman of Philippine Army’s 903rd Infantry Brigade covering Sorsogon and Masbate.

In Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur, Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 5 reported that towns and cities lost power early morning of Sunday.
