DOJ fires Bilibid official

MANILA, Philippines–The Department of Justice (DOJ) dismissed from service an official of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) after it was discovered that his office-issued laptop was at the possession of an inmate.

Superintendent Catalino Malinao also interfered with the operation of the NBP’s Security and Patrol Unit (SPU), the DOJ said.

Aside from dismissal, his retirement benefits has been forfeited with cancellation of eligibility  to be  reemployed to any branch of the government.
