Manila tricycle group official shot dead
MANILA, Philippines — A man reportedly the president of a tricycle drivers’ association in Manila was shot dead by a still unidentified assailant in Tondo district Tuesday morning.
The Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section identified the victim as Eugene Gose, president of the Parola Compound Tricycle Drivers’ Association.
According to residents, Gose was driving his tricycle when he was shot twice near Gate 1 of Parola Compound by a man wearing a black jacket.
SPO2 Antonio of the MPD said it appeared that the attacker used a revolver in shooting the victim after investigators failed to recover any empty shell at the crime scene.
Revolvers usually retain spent bullet shells in their chamber. In contrast, magazine-fed pistols eject the bullet casings after they are fired.
