Retired Marine found dead inside Fort Bonifacio firing range
MANILA, Philippines—A retired Marine was found dead inside a firing range at Fort Bonifacio Friday morning, radio reports said.
Radio station DZMM reported that Colonel Edgard Arevalo, Philippine Navy Spokesman, said that retired Philippine Marine Master Sergeant Romeo Sierra was found with a caliber .45 gunshot wound in his mouth.
The report said that the gun was found beside Sierra in the firing range of Naval Station Jose Francisco inside the Philippine Navy Headquarters.
Sierra was seen, based on closed circuit television (CCTV) recordings, descending a tricycle at 6:48 a.m. then he went inside the firing range.
At 8:15 a.m. a soldier of the Philippine Navy found the body Sierra and notified his superiors of the incident.
Sierra allegedly had financial problems and was looking to pawn his caliber .45 pistol.
