Dubai lights up 2015 with light and sound extravaganza

DUBAI—Dubai celebrated the New Year with a light and sound extravaganza at midnight Wednesday at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.

The 828-meter (2,716-foot) tower was lit up with different-colored panels as the clock counted down to 2015.

Lasers flashed through the skies over Downtown, the chic district surrounding Burj Khalifa, accompanied by music and dancing fountains at the foot of the tower, to the delight of a large crowd.
