9 missing fishermen in CamSur, Masbate found by Coast Guard
NAGA CITY — The six fishermen in Camarines Sur and the three fishermen in Masbate who were earlier reported missing were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard on Monday afternoon.
Captain Tranquilino Paiton, commander of the Coast Guard in Bicol, said all nine missing persons have been rescued and sent home.
The six fishermen earlier reported missing in Barangay Caranan, in Pasacao, Camarines Sur, were identified as Leopoldo Nidea, 37; Doikyam Deguia, 35; Oliver Deguia, 28; Francis Basqouinia, 23; Danilo de los Santos, 29; and Domingo Harol, 16.
The six went out to the sea on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the three fishermen who were reported lost at sea in Mandaon, Masbate, since Sunday were able to return home, said Paiton.
The Coast Guard was not able to provide the names of the three but assured the public of their safety.
