Roxas: Cell phone jammer to deter Bilibid car theft, drug rings
MANILA, Philippines—Interior Secretary Mar Roxas on Friday said cell phone jammers would be used to stop the operations of illegal drugs and car theft syndicates in the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
Roxas said intelligence reports indicated that leaders of drug syndicates and carnappers serving prison term still manage to run their “businesses” inside the NBP through the use of communication gadgets.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima earlier said prison officials were getting death threats due to the intensified effort to curb illegal drugs operations inside the NBP.
