At around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Charina Quintanilla, lawyer of businessman Antonio Tiu, arrived at the Sunchamp Agri-Tourism Park and told the media that only members of the Senate blue ribbon committee would be allowed to enter and inspect the property.

“The ocular inspection today is only limited to the members of the Senate blue ribbon committee, which is an accommodation on our client’s part sa request po ng members nito,” Quintanilla said.

“Walang nagsabing open siya sa media…” she said.

A guideline of the inspection from Tiu’s camp showed that the ocular inspection should be conducted from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Thursday.

But Trillanes and members of the media arrived before 12 noon.

Told that he was the only one allowed to enter the property, Trillanes refused, saying in jest that he would be lonely without the company of the media.

“Nagyayabang pa siya na isama ang mga reporter para lahat ng sulok makita pero wala pa rin,” the senator said, referring to Tiu.

(He was even boasting that the rporters should be allowed entry as well so that every nook and cranny of the house will be inspected.)

“Siguro naman maliwanag na ito na sinungaling ang mamang ito,” he said.

(Perhaps it is clear that this man is a liar.)

Trillanes noted that during Wednesday’s hearing of the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee, Tiu himself acceded to his request to conduct an ocular inspection of the property.

“He (Tiu) blew it. He had his chance to show na wala siyang tinatago pero kita nyo yung ginawa sa atin,” said the senator.

He had his chance to show that he wasn’t hiding anything but see what he did to us.)

“Ngayon hindi tayo pinapasok, hindi ko problema yan. Problema nya yan. Winawasak nya ngayon yung kredibilidad nya,” Trillanes added.

(Now he’s not allowing us to enter. That’s not my problem. That’s his problem. He is destroying his credibility.)
