With about a dozen vehicles of supporters in tow, Cagas went directly to the Davao del Sur police department’s investigation section and declared he was yielding.

The filing of the murder case against Cagas and several other persons was ordered by Justice Secretary Leila De Lima last month after Bedolido’s family asked for a review of an earlier decision by Digos City prosecutor Christopher Abarilla absolving Cagas of any responsibility in the 2010 killing of the journalist.
