Blood moon not visible in most parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines—Most parts of the Philippines may not witness the total lunar eclipse, known as blood moon, due to overcast skies on Wednesday evening.

This was because of the prevailing intertropical convergence zone in Visayas and Mindanao, Aldczar Aurelio told INQUIRER.net.

He said that those in northern Luzon have the biggest chance of witnessing the cosmic event.

The blood moon will be seen in other parts of Asia, the Americas and Australasia.

At 4:14 p.m. Philippine Standard Time (PST), the moon will start to be bathed in dark blood red and the celestial show will end at 9:35 p.m. (PST), Pagasa previously said in its astronomical diary.

In Manila, the moon will rise at 5:34 p.m. on Wednesday and will set at 6:16 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.
