Bogo captain nabbed in raid, claims harassment
A BARANGAY captain accused Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr. of political harassment after she was arrested in a police raid at her home at 5 a.m. yesterday.
In a phone interview Malingin barangay captain Marilyn Kalidkid said she and her kids were traumatized after 20 policemen raided their home.
Kalidkid is a supporter of Rep. Benhur Salimbangon of Cebu’s 4th district. Salimbangon’s sister, Mariquita Salimbangon–Yeung, ran and lost to Martinez in last year’s elections.
Policemen reportedly found in Kalidkid’s home one hand grenade and one .45 pistol. Kalidkid insisted that the weapons were planted in her home.
An arrest warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Meinrado Paredes against Kalidkid for illegal possession of firearms.
The arrest was based on the testimonies of two Bogo policemen who claimed that Kalidkid kept a firearm in her home.
