Blue alert status up ahead of ‘Luis’ landfall
MANILA, Philippines—The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday raised the blue alert status ahead of Tropical Storm “Luis” expected landfall.
Blue alert level status means that half of the members of the NDRRMC are on standby for any emergencies.
In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical and Services Administration (Pagasa) raised Public Storm Signal No. 1 over Isabela, Cagayan, Quirino, Aurora and Catanduanes.
“Luis” was expected to make landfall over Isabela on Sunday evening or early Monday, Pagasa said.
