BI exec accuses bosses of demoting him

04:49 AM September 23, 2011

A ranking Bureau of Immigration (BI) official has filed an administrative complaint against Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. and Associate Commissioner Siegred Mison for allegedly demoting and reassigning him to a lower post in violation of civil service rules and regulations.

In his affidavit, lawyer Felino Quirante Jr., BI administrative division chief, asked the Department of Justice to impose disciplinary sanctions on David and Mison for alleged oppression, abuse of authority and misconduct.

Quirante  said he was subjected to public contempt and ridicule when his transfer to the Makati City office was announced during the BI’s September 3 anniversary program. He added that he was also unduly deprived of his award as best BI division chief. Jerome Aning and Marlon Ramos
