Manila suspends towing firm’s employees due to complaints
MANILA, Philippines–Due to numerous complaints from motorists, the Manila City government has ordered the indefinite suspension of some employees of a towing company.
“I have directed Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau Director Carter Logica to suspend indefinitely two of the tow trucks of RWM Towing and four of its personnel,” Vice Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said in a recent statement.
The suspension was slapped on RWM Towing Services Inc. after an investigation confirmed the veracity of the complaints—mostly posted on social media websites—forwarded to Domagoso’s office.
Officials said that employees of the towing company had been found to have towed vehicles without properly informing their owners first.
Charges will not be filed against them, however, as the indefinite suspension will effectively prevent them from operating again.
