While the typhoon will not make landfall, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Jose brought heavy to intense rains within its 650-kilometer diameter.

Heavy rainfall was felt over Metro Manila and nearby Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Bataan and Zambales provinces Monday, according to Pagasa.

The state weather bureau said Jose is not affecting any part of the country and attributed the rains felt in Luzon this week to the southwest monsoon.

Light to moderate rainfall was felt over Quezon, which was devastated by Typhoon Glenda last month, as well as Cavite, Bulacan, parts of Pampanga, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.–Dona Z. Pazzibugan
