Pusher’s son eyed in shooting

THE son of a slain bigtime drug pusher was identified as a suspect in the shooting of a minor in barangay Tejero, Cebu City over the weekend.

The minor was accused in the shooting and wounding of Jier (real name withheld) in MJ Cuenco Avenue barangay Tejero.

Jier sustained a gunshot wound on his right shoulder and was confined at the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for treatment.

PO3 Geoffrey Gutual, homicide investigator of the Cebu City police, said witnesses told him that Jier and his friends were drinking at the roadside cafeteria past 4 a.m. last Friday.

The witness said the suspect suddenly brandished a gun and fired shots in the air before shooting at Jier and his group.

The group scampered away and Jier was rushed by passersby to the hospital.

Gutual said Jier’s group may have been rival gang members.

He said the victim denied that he and his friends belonged to a gang.
