3 killed in shootout with Cagayan cops
MANILA, Philippines — Three unidentified suspects were killed while another was being pursued by police after a shootout in Cagayan before dawn Tuesday.
The four enaged police in a firefight at Minanga, Penablanca, Cagayan at around 3:30 a.m., said Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr.
Three of the suspects were eventually killed in the gunfight while one escaped.
Police recovered two motorcycles, two caliber .45 pistols, one uzi machine pistol and ammunition for caliber .45 and 9-millimeter pistols.
Cagayan provincial police chief Senior Superintendent Mao Aplasca said that investigators were still in the area gathering information on the shootout.
Pursuit operations for the lone suspect to have escaped the incident was ongoing, said the PNP spokesman.
