Truck, bus drivers ignore no-entry sign

/ 12:12 AM May 16, 2011

Going north coming from Fort Bonifacio on C5, there is a no entry sign for trucks and buses just before going down the ramp at the right side to Bagong Ilog, Pasig. Why is it that some dump trucks and buses are allowed to use this service road despite the sign? The Pasig traffic aides would normally say that they have permits. So my question is, “What was the basis for the issuance of these permits?” I hope that the Pasig City government will seriously investigate this.—Joey, 48, Pasig City

Traffic enforcers no match for jeepney drivers</strong

The traffic enforcers are helpless because of the hard-headedness of jeepney drivers who ply the Tayuman-Pritil route. Even if the light is already red, they still cross the intersection, which is why traffic is heavy at the corner of Rizal Avenue and Tayuman in Manila.—Junior, 30, Manila
