Sandigan sets arraignment of Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla

MANILA, Philippines — The arraignment of Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada are set for June 26 and June 30, the Sandiganbayan said Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the arraignment for those at large may be deferred until they surrender or are arrested, according to Renato Bocar, executive clerk of court.

The Ombudsman, in indicting Revilla, said the movie actor-turned-senator collected P224.512 million in kickbacks from 2006 to 2010 from the alleged illegal disbursement of his Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF). Revilla faces one count of plunder and 16 counts of graft.

Revilla’s co-accused in the plunder case are his former legislative officer Richard Cambe, alleged mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles, Napoles’ employee John Raymund De Asis, and Napoles’ nephew Ronald John Lim. Revilla and Cambe have surrendered, while the other two remain at large. Napoles is detained on separate charges of serious illegal detention.

Revilla’s co-accused in graft are: Napoles; Cambe; John Raymund De Asis, Napoles’ employee; Budget Undersecretary Mario Relampagos;  Antonio Ortiz and Dennis Cunanan, who are former directors general of the Technology Resource Center (TRC); Allan Javellana, former president of National Agribusiness Corp. (Nabcor); Gondelina Amata, president of the National Livelihood Development Corp. (NLDC).

Napoles employees Myla Ogerio, Eulogio Rodriguez, Laarni Uy, Jocelyn Piorato, Evelyn De Leon.

Estrada’s co-accused in his plunder case are Napoles, De Asis, and Pauline Labayen, who is Estrada’s former deputy chief of staff. Labayen remains at large.
