Are there budding artists in your family? High school, college or vocational-technical students may join a unique art competition dubbed “A Dialogue with St. Teresa.” The nationwide contest, organized and launched in January by the Carmelites in the Philippines, welcomes entries done in acrylic, poster color or pastels and inspired by selected verses from St. Teresa’s writings. A total of 12 winners will be featured in a calendar being prepared for 2015 to commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of St. Teresa of Avila, a Spanish mystic and the first woman Doctor of the Church.  Find the downloadable application form, contest rules and Teresian verses in www.teresa500philippines.com, the official website of the National Commission for the Celebration of the Fifth Birth Centenary of St. Teresa of Avila. Deadline for the submission of entries is on June 30.
