MRT’s full line operation restored after two-hour disruption

MANILA, Philippines—The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT) announced that its run is now back to normal two hours after a cable glitch halted its trains’ run on Tuesday morning.

“MRT3 now back to full line operations from North Avenue Station to Taft Avenue Station and back,” MRT/LRT spokesperson Atty. Hernando Cabrera posted on his Twitter account Tuesday noon.

The operations of the MRT  were partially halted for over an hour due to a power cable problem.

“At 9:53 a.m., there was a power cable problem between Shaw Boulevard to North Avenue so the operations stopped because the power supply was affected,” Hernando said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM.

This meant they had to cut off the power supply to check the glitch.

As of 10:10 a.m., only the stations from Shaw Boulevard to Taft Avenue and back were operational. The operations from Shaw Boulevard to North Avenue and back stopped.

Cabrera apologized for the inconvenience to the passengers.
