7 aboard New Jersey-bound plane die in crash
BEDFORD, Massachusetts—Authorities say all seven people aboard a private plane were killed when it crashed in a Massachusetts air field and erupted into fire.
They say the Gulfstream IV aircraft was leaving Hanscom Field in Bedford when it crashed and caught fire about 9:40 p.m. Saturday. The plane was headed to Atlantic City International Airport in New Jersey.
The names of the victims were not immediately released. And authorities have not said what they think caused the crash. They said the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
Nearby residents recounted seeing a fireball and feeling the blast of the explosion shake their homes.
The air field is used by the public and operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority.
It was closed after the plane crashed.
