STA. CRUZ, Laguna—Supporters of disqualified Governor Emilio Ramon “ER” Ejercito continued to camp out at the Laguna Provincial Capitol to show their support for the ousted leader.
This after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) served the writ of execution on Ejercito.
While Ejercito remained holed up at the governor’s office, Vice Governor Ramil Hernandez who succeeded the actor-politician held office at the Laguna Sports Complex in the same town.
Despite the change of leadership, transactions in the capitol are business as usual.
Although the situation was generally peaceful, Chief Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian said they have deployed about 100 policemen to maintain peace and order in the area.
