Heavy rain floods Valenzuela City, causes 3-km long traffic on NLEX

MANILA, Philippines – Heavy rain Saturday caused flooding in Valenzuela City and a three-kilometer long traffic at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), an official for its Traffic Management said.

Andrea Gutierrez described the traffic situation as bumper-to-bumper and advised motorists to take the Valenzuela exit.

As of posting time, vehicles are still at a stand still.

According to the latest advisory of the  Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration ( Pagasa), a thunderstorm is affecting portions of Metro Manila, including Caloocan and parts of  Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales and Nueva Ecija.
