Prayer-rally against RH bill set on Friday in Tagaytay
MANILA, Philippines—Church groups are set to rally in Tagaytay City in Cavite on Friday against the Reproductive Health (RH) bill, a religious leader said on Wednesday.
Fr. Randy Flores of the Society of the Divine Word, or SVD, who is former chairman of the Tagaytay Religious Association (TRA), said: “Since Tagaytay City is often dubbed as the Vatican City of the Philippines because of its exceptionally big number of religious houses, and also since it is used to being called a ‘character city’ by the local government, it is just right that it becomes the venue for expressing our sentiments against the bill that many Catholics now perceive as immoral.”
The prayer-rally, dubbed “Lakas-Dalangin para sa Pagpapahalaga sa Buhay,” will start at 2 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. It will feature a rosary procession and a talk on the controversial RH bill, Father Flores said.
Flores encouraged participants to provide streamers highlighting the theme during the rosary procession and urged religious houses to ask their lay workers and collaborators to take part in the event.
