MANILA, Philippines — The supposed mastermind in the robbery that led to the killing of a Malabon City government employee and his son Wednesday surrendered to the authorities on Saturday.

Bong Padua, the city’s public information chief, said Aries Santos, 30, surrendered to Mayor Lenlen Oreta past 9 a.m.

Santos was tagged by Anthony Sernechez, 26–who gave himself up to the police–as the mastermind in the robbery and killing of Ferlizardo Coralde, 46, a record officer of the city civil registry, and his son Albert, 20.

The victims were found with their throats slit, and hogtied, in their respective bedrooms in their house on N. Vidal St. in Barangay (village) Ibaba on Feb. 5.

Padua said Santos, a supposed relative of the Coraldes, will be turned over to the Malabon police.
