LPA intensifies into tropical depression, may enter PAR Thursday

MANILA, Philippines-Another tropical depression is set to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility Thursday afternoon or evening, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
As of 10:00 a.m. Thursday, the center of the tropical depression, which would be named Basyang in accordance with Pagasa’s list of typhoon names, was estimated at 1,140 kilometers east of Mindanao.

The weather bureau said that the new weather system would not yet affect any part of the country.
