A man was killed while his companion was wounded when they were stabbed on Sunday by a stranger whom they confronted for whistling at their female companions in Quezon City.

Reymond Obar, 22, a construction worker, of Interior 12 Dominador Street, Tandang Sora Subdivision, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital for a stab wound in the abdomen while his coworker Joshua Diasanta, 18, remains confined for a leg wound.

SPO1 Cristituto Zaldarriaga of the Quezon City Police District said the two had challenged to a fight a man who had whistled at their female friends at 1 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway in Novaliches.

The man, however, stabbed them and fled.—Jeannette I. Andrade
