Resto-bar supervisor shot dead in QC robbery
The supervisor of a restaurant and bar in Quezon City died in the hospital after he was shot by robbers early Tuesday morning.
The police theorized that the gun which killed 30-year-old Joman Porras may have gone off accidentally because the victim did not put up a fight when he was asked to give up his valuables.
Porras died while being treated at a hospital following the shooting in Barangay South Triangle.
“He did not fight them off; it is possible that the gun went off while it was being held against his back,” said Insp. Elmer Monsalve, homicide section head of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit.
Porras, the supervisor of Gerardo’s Bar and Restaurant on Panay Avenue, was on his way home to Antipolo City with a coworker when he was shot.
Case investigator PO3 Marlon dela Vega said the robbery happened at 2:50 a.m. at the corner of Panay Avenue and Sgt. Esguerra Street.

Without any warning, the gun went off. The bullet went through Porras’ back, exiting through his stomach as the robbers fled toward Edsa on their motorcycles.
