Business exec shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunman in QC
MANILA, Philippines — A business executive was killed after she was ambushed Wednesday afternoon by a motorcycle-riding gunman in Quezon City.
Arlene Lau, 39, general manager of the Tiger King Trading Corporation, of Mandaluyong City, died instantly from a bullet wound in the head. The Tiger King company, based in Pasig City, manufactures weighing scales.
Senior Police Officer 1 Joselito Gagaza, of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), said that the attack happened at around 4 p.m., Wednesday along the F. Manalo Bridge along Calle Industria in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan.
Gagaza said that Lau was on a silver Chrysler (ZJC-887) when a motorcycle rider suddenly zipped past and shot at the driver’s side before fleeing.
Lau was hit by a bullet, which exited through the side of her head, and was killed.
The case investigator said that a bullet casing from a .45 pistol was recovered at the crime scene.
