Another quake rocks GenSan
DAVAO CITY, Philippines—(UPDATE) Another earthquake jolted General Santos City on Wednesday, one after a stronger tremor shook the city.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in its website that Wednesday’s quake occurred around 9:28 a.m. at sea, 87 kilometers southeast of General Santos City, and had a magnitude of 4.
Phivolcs said it did not expect any damage or aftershocks from the quake, which was tectonic in origin and was felt in Davao City at intensity II.
On Tuesday, General Santos City was also rocked by a magnitude-5.5 tremor.
A magnitude-3.1 quake occurred some 14 kilometers northeast of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, around 6:35 a.m. Wednesday.
Phivolcs said the Prosperidad quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of only one kilometer. No aftershocks or damage was expected from the tremor, Phivolcs said.
