/ 06:48 AM September 09, 2011

A running event aimed at improving the streets of Cebu City will be held on Nov. 13. The run, organized by the Abellana National School (ANS) Alumni Federation, is dubbed “1st Abellana National School Run: Reconnect, Reunite Run” to be held at the ANS campus along Osmeña Boulevard.

ANS Alumni Federation president Daisy Toledo, also the district engineer of the Talisay City Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), said the event serves as the group’s way of paying back to the Cebuanos.

The running event’s proceeds will be given to the Cebu City government’s sidewalk beautification project, which has been ongoing for the past months.

“This project is a noble cause for us, from Capitol area to Sanciangko Street, we will help the city government reach their goal for us to have a Persons with Disability (PWD)-friendly sidewalk,” said Toledo during the official launching of the three-category run at the Casino Español yesterday. Congressman Pastor “Jun” Alcover, the former president of the Alumni federation, was also present during yesterday’s launching.
