Durug tops Four Central Squares kiddies chess tilt
JEFFU DURUG emerged as the best kiddies division pawn pusher after scoring 6.5 points in the seven round Swiss system tournament of the Four Central Squares Chess Association held at the Robinson’s Cybergate mall yesterday.
Durug, the third seed, outlasted Jerish John Velarde in the seventh and final round en route to the title.
Glybel Jane Quiñanola placed second with 6.0 points tied with top-seeded Chris Aldritz Pondoyo. Vic Glysen Derotas placed third with 5.0 points together with Velarde, James Andrew Balbona, Edsel Vosotros, Rejel Clyde Perandos, James Fernando Diloy and Jasper Calimbo.
