Cabbie robs passenger
A YOUNG woman reported to the police that she was robbed by the driver of a taxi she rode in barangay Tayud, Consolacion town, northern Cebu, last Monday night.
Stephanie Ganancial of Talisay City said she lost her gold earrings, silver bracelet, silver necklace, three gold rings and P346 cash.
The woman flagged down the taxi past 9 p.m. at Chong Hua Hospital in Cebu City and asked to be brought to barangay Talamban.
Ganancial said she fell asleep in the backseat along the way and woke up when the taxi was already farther away in the Cansaga Bridge in Consolacion town.
The woman said she was shocked when the taxi driver poked a knife at her and declared a hold-up.
The passenger said she was told to get off after the driver took her belongings.

Article continues after this advertisementThe victim said she failed to jot down the plate number and could only remember the taxi’s name printed on its body as “Brent Taxi.”
