Aboitiz football opening lines up 14 tough matches

FOURTEEN matches will spice up the opening of the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup today at the Aboitiz Football Field at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Leading the way will be the Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy, which will play against Mactan Camellanz in the under-18 boys division.

Bright Academy’s girls squad, meanwhile,  will take on Tabor Hill FC in the under-15 girls division while Saint John’s Seminary and the Talisay Raskals will play against each other in the under-15 boys division along with the duels between Mactan Camellanz and BMALV FC, and  University of San Carlos-Basic Education (USC-BED) and Center for International Education’s (CIE).

Also seeing action today will be the Inayawan FC, which will go up against CIE in the under-13 category. Warshockz Famball FC will play against Guardian Strikers FC  and the Phoenix FC will face Tabor Hill FC in the same category.

Games in the 11-under division include Lahug Football Club Team A vs.Tabor Hill FC, USC-BED vs. BMALV FC, Tabor Hill FC vs. Camp Lapu-Lapu Elementary School Warshockz, Lahug FC Team B vs. Dynamo FC, and PAREF Springdale vs. Phoenix FC.

Canduman FC will also have a game against Bright Academy Team B in the under-nine category. The matches will start at 7:30 a.m.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
