Task force formed to probe mystery killing in Danao
A special team was created to investigate the death of two people whose bodies were burnt together with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in barangay Sabang, Danao City last week.
The team will be led by the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) with representatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), Highway Patrol Group (HPG), PNP Crime Laboratory and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as members.
CPPO director Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac said they still could not confirm if the charred bodies were that of the two Koreans who were earlier reported missing. He said DNA testing is needed to ascertain their identities.
The SUV was traced to its registered owner, one Jennifer Veloso of barangay Dumlog,Talisay City.
Veloso is married to a Korean who is a surplus car dealer. Gillamac said Veloso is cooperating with investigators.
Supt. Elmer Lim, chief of the Danao City Police Office, said they already have the names of the Koreans but he refused to divulge these pending confirmation that they were the ones found in the SUV that was set on fire.
