GenSan to host SalaMindanaw

The inaugural SalaMindanaw International Film Festival, organized by Soccsksargen Center for Film Arts, will be held in General Santos City from Nov. 26 to 30, coinciding with the Mindanao Week of Peace.

The festival is recognized by Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema, an organization established in 1990 and based in Sri Lanka, which has since become the leading platform for the discovery and promotion of Asian cinema around the world.

The festival aims to be a mirror (salamin) of peace (salam) in Mindanao, thus the name SalaMindanaw. It seeks to promote international cinema with emphasis on strong cultural ties between Mindanao and its Southeast Asian neighbors.
