MANILA, Philippins—Due to “communication problems,” the Department of Public Works and Highways’ regional office in Tacloban City has yet to report on the status of roads and bridges in the city and other parts of Leyte that were devastated by “supertyphoon Yolanda” (international Haiyan).

The information was relayed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Tuesday, by the DPWH’s Public Information Division, which said they had “yet to get an update” from the agency’s regional office in Tacloban.

“It’s still negative, as of today,” said Elizabeth Pilorin, chief of the DPWH-PID, said on Tuesday.
