2 senior citizens die in pre-dawn fire at SSS village in Marikina City
MANILA, Philippines—Two senior citizens, who were brothers, were killed early Saturday in a fire that gutted a two-storey home in Marikina, radio reports said.
Inside the razed residential house on Russet Street, SSS Village in Barangay Concepcion Dos were retired policeman Fernando Pantig, 74, and his 64-year-old brother Boy Pantig.
According to the Marikina Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire that reached second alarm broke out at 2 a.mm and was put out an hour and a half after, around 3:30 am.
Radio reports said one of the burnt bodies of the siblings was found in the living room while the other was found lying on the stairs.
The cause of fire has not been determined yet as of posting time.
