The dead will walk (and run) in Makati

/ 01:45 AM October 31, 2013

On Halloween night, the zombie apocalypse comes to Makati City’s central business district.

A fun run organized by the city government and events management firm J.R. Usi will deploy around 3,000 ‘‘zombies” in what is dubbed as the biggest activity involving the undead to hit the metropolis.

A statement from City Hall warned that these ‘‘zombies” might just dart out of street corners and chase participating runners at the Makati CBD.

The fun run is one of the crowd-drawing gimmicks in the metropolis leading to All Saints’ Day, which persist despite repeated appeals from the Catholic Church to observe the holiday by celebrating the lives of saints instead of dressing up as ghosts, demons or ghouls. Niña Calleja
