Costume-themed Parkmall run today

AROUND a thousand runners, some of them wearing their favorite costumes, will answer today’s starting gun for the Parkmall Green Mile Anniversary Fun Run starting at the mall’s premises.

The running event will have 3k, 6k, 15k and 21k distances. There will also be a 1k category for runners with their pet dogs.

The race will kick off at 4 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes to add color to the fun run, which offers a total of P75,000 worth of cash prizes.

This running event is part of Parkmall’s celebration of its fifth anniversary this year.

The proceeds of the running event will be turned over to the Island Rescue Organization (IRO) and The Freeman Foundation.

IRO is a nongovernment organization that campaigns for the humane treatment of animals in the Philippines and strongly supports Parkmall’s advocacy for pets.

The Freeman Foundation, on the other hand, reaches out to children with cancer and other illnesses.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
