Rainshowers, cloudy skies in Palawan, Mindanao, Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines—An intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will affect some parts of Visayas and Mindanao Saturday, the state-run weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its forecast that thunderstorms bringing light to moderate rainshowers and cloudy skies could be expected in Palawan, Mindanao and in some Eastern Visayas provinces.
In Metro Manila and other provinces unaffected by the ITCZ, isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced in the afternoon until Saturday night.
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters, it said.
Elsewhere, only light to moderate northwest winds will prevail.
Article continues after this advertisementIn a release by the Philippine News Agency, the weather agency also issued a gale warning as strong to gale-force winds associated with northeast monsoon is expected to affect the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon.
Pagasa also advised fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
